MINERVA Multi-Domain Swarming

Swarming Technologies & Solutions has developed a distributed multi-agent non-hierarchical swarm, that integrates both C2 and payload control systems. MINERVA Multi-Domain swarming system allows:

  • Operation of different types of vehicles (fixed-wing, VTOL, multicopter, UGV and USV)
  • Operation of different types of payloads (EO/IR, electronic warfare, NRBQ, loudspeaker, lethal, cargo, sound location systems and others) simultaneously.
  • Integration between manned and unmanned with aircraft, ground and maritime vehicles.

Due to the distributed swarm architecture, every vehicle has on-board intelligence, the swarm being able to:

  • Distributed decisions (automatic resource re-allocation)
  • Tasking and re-tasking depending on target and mission
  • Automatically targets detection (based on AI techniques)
  • Targets priorization, even exchanging them to adapt to the conditions of the environment.
  • Collision avoidance module (both collaborative and predictive).

Communications architecture are also distributed, making the system fault-tolerant to potential attacks. In addition, thanks to the on-board intelligence of the vehicles, they will be able to adjust their communications to allow the entry or exit of new nodes dynamically.

MINERVA swarm system is transparent to autopilots and communications systems. It is scalable in terms of range, number of elements and aircraft sizes. It adds automatic take-off and landing capability to vehicles, as well as the possibility of limiting their area of movement through the implementation of 3D no-fly zones and 3D geofences.
